PGA and CBS Sports Recognize our very own Gerry Hammond!
The Golf Depot in Gahanna is proud to announce that our PGA Professional Gerry Hammond will be featured on a CBS telecast during a PGA event in June on his work with young golfers. Taping is occurring at the Golf Depot Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (4/1-4/3). Come enjoy an exciting day with us.
Gerry runs the Hammond Golf Academy at the course. He is an Ohio native and son of late/great President of Columbus City Council Jerry Hammond. Gerry has over 100 students in his golf academy instructional program. Many of his students come from as far away as Indiana and Michigan and are competing on the high school, collegiate and professional levels.
One of Gerry’s students, Wyatt Worthington will also be taking part in this event. Wyatt participated in the PGA Tour “Q School” and was one of the Top 20 in PNC Championship. The Hammond Golf Academy is in its’ 5th year at the Golf Depot, a Play, Practice and Learn facility.

Worthington hoping final-round rally pays off
Sitting at 7-over par to start the final round of the PGA Professional National Championship, 28-year-old Wyatt Worthington II knew he needed to do something special on Wednesday at Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon course to have any chance of punching a ticket to the PGA Championship.
Worthington, the PGA Golf Instructor at the Golf Depot at Central Park in Gahanna, Ohio, came up one stroke shy of his goal.

A former train depot serves as the clubhouse for the Golf Village at Central Park, which opens to the public tomorrow (July 21), along with a nine-hole, par-3 golf course and driving range at 789 Science Blvd.
Boomfest offers view of three fireworks shows from one spot
Residents will have opportunities to enjoy three fireworks displays from the Golf Depot at Central Park, 789 Science Blvd., from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 3.
The Golf Depot is presenting the third annual Boomfest, along with sponsor Huntington Bank, featuring fireworks launched at the depot and views of Red, White & Boom! and of Whitehall’s fireworks display.
